Some film festival titles announced

The Louisiana International Film Festival and Mentorship Program, taking place May 8-11 at Cinemark Perkins Rowe, has announced some of the titles for its second festival:

•“God’s Pocket,” featuring the late Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Christina Hendricks and John Turturro.

•The New Orleans-set “Elsa & Fred,” featuring Shirley MacLaine and Christopher Plummer.

•“The Double,” starring Jesse Eisenberg.

•“A Thousand Times Goodnight,” featuring Juliette Binoche.

•The second North American screening of the new Roman Polanski film, “Venus in Fur.”

Tickets for individual films will be on sale at the Cinemark box office and online closer to the festival dates. All-access passes are on sale for $100 through the festival website, lifilmfest.org. Passes provide entry to all screenings, gala premieres, cocktail receptions, workshops, master classes, tributes, film receptions and parties.

The festival has also launched its mentorship and training program. The program will begin with a three-day course, “An Introduction to the World of Film,” presented May 8-11, in conjunction with the film festival. The program will feature panels, workshops taught by industry professionals, networking events, screenings and more.
