“Treme” writer, LSU professor to speak

LSU’s Science Café presents a free talk with Mari Kornhauser, LSU screenwriting professor and writer for the HBO series, “Treme,” Tuesday, June 25, at Chelsea’s Café, 2857 Perkins Road.

In addition to her “Treme” writing, Kornhauser’s films include “Housebound,” “F.T.W.” and the Nicolas Cage-starring, New Orleans-shot “Zandalee.” She’ll discuss her work for “Treme” and speak about screenwriting and independent filmmaking.

Doors open at Chelsea’s at 5 p.m. The event also features food, giveaways and drink specials. Kornhauser’s informal talk begins at 6 p.m.
