MONROE — The University of Louisiana at Monroe opens Sun Belt Conference play Thursday hosting Western Kentucky.
Kickoff is set for 6:32 p.m. at Malone Stadium, and the game will air on ESPNU.
It will be the final Sun Belt Conference meeting between the teams with Western Kentucky moving to Conference USA next season.
The Warhawks (2-3) are coming off a 31-14 home loss to Tulane in which quarterback Kolton Browning suffered a torn quad muscle, which ULM coach Todd Berry said will likely sideline him for the remainder of the season.
Sophomore Brayle Brown, who went 10-for-18 for 133 yards, two interceptions and a touchdown against Tulane, will get his first collegiate start against the Hilltoppers (3-2, 0-1).
Western Kentucky features two reigning Sun Belt players of the week in running back Antonio Andrews (offense), who had 182 rushing yards on 32 carries in a 19-7 win over Navy. He finished with 252 all-purpose yards against the Midshipmen.
Xavius Boyd was named the league’s defensive player of the week after recording eight solo tackles, including a sack for a safety in the win over Navy.
