LSU-Eunice’s scheduled game in the NJCAA Division II World Series was postponed Wednesday night because of severe weather in the Enid, Okla., area.
The Bengals will now play Heartland (Ill.) Community College at noon Thursday, or shortly after the end of the game between North Iowa Area Community College and Murray State Community College, which was postponed in the fifth inning Wednesday.
Wednesday’s forecast in Enid called for 70-mph wind and hail in the Enid area. Because of that, the NJCAA chose to pause play for the rest of the night.
The altered schedule means that LSU-Eunice will play two games Thursday. The outcome of the noon game will determine the game time of the Bengals’ second game later Thursday.
With a win over Heartland, the Bengals would advance to play at 7 p.m. against Madison College. A loss to Heartland would force LSU-Eunice to play again at 3:30 p.m. in an elimination game against the winner of the North Iowa Area-Murray State game.
