Caleb Adams’ three-run home run with two outs gave the Ragin’ Cajuns (17-6, 3-3 Sun Belt) a 3-2 lead in the sixth inning before Miller and Adkins went deep, ending a string of nine straight batters retired by Cody Boutte. Adkins, 3-for-5, and Miller, 2-for-5, each had three RBIs for Middle Tennessee (15-10, 3-3) Adkins had a two-run double to push the lead to 6-3 in the seventh. An RBI double by Dain McNabb and a two-run single by Miller, sandwiched around a rain delay in the eighth inning gave the Blue Raiders a 9-3 lead in the eighth. Zac Curtis (4-2) struck out nine and scattered five hits in 7.2 innings to lead Middle Tennessee. ULL’s Cody Boutte (4-1) struck out five in 5.2 innings, yielding four runs (three earned). Middle Tennessee took a 2-0 lead in the second on Robert Lawrence’s double that scored Adkins, who reached on a fielding error, and Jake Ellison’s triple to center field.
