RUSTON — After notching the program’s first NIT win since 2002 with a 71-66 victory at Florida State, the fifth-seeded Louisiana Tech men’s basketball team will stay on the road at No. 1 seed Southern Miss for their second-round game.
Tip-off is set for 9 p.m. Monday in Hattiesburg, Miss. The game will be televised by
Tech (27-6) and Southern Miss (26-9) met earlier this season in Ruston, with the Bulldogs
taking a 65-55 win.
Southern Miss (26-9) beat No. 8 seed Charleston Southern 78-71 its first postseason win since 1988.
The two teams had the highest RPIs of any of the 32 teams selected into the NIT, the Golden Eagles with an RPI of 31 and the Bulldogs at 54.
