NEW ORLEANS — The Tulane women’s basketball team will play in the postseason for the fourth consecutive year as the Green Wave host Sam Houston State in the Women’s National Invitation Tournament at 7 p.m. Thursday in Devlin Fieldhouse.
It’s the third straight trip to the WNIT for Tulane, which is 2-2 in the tournament the past two seasons. Tulane (22-8) made the NCAA tournament in 2010. Sam Houston, the Southland Conference regular-season champion, finished the season at 18-14.
“We’re excited for the opportunity to keep playing and being able to finish the season on a high note,” Green Wave coach Lisa Stockton said. “Playing at home, especially in a tournament this large, gives you an advantage in trying to advance. I think it’s always great to play home. To have our fans be a part of the postseason makes it a little more special.”
Tickets to Thursday’s WNIT contest are available through the Tulane Athletics Ticket Office with student tickets selling for $4, while general admission, reserved/chairback and floor seats are available for $6, $12 and $16.
The game will be broadcast on WMTI-FM, 106.1 in New Orleans.
