ULL (11-2) began the season with a homestand that lasted 13 games and kept the Ragin’ Cajuns in Lafayette for the season’s first three weekends. The Southern Miss series is the only nonconference road series for ULL. It also marks the final weekend before Sun Belt play begins March 15-17 against Louisiana-Monroe. The Cajuns are coming off a five-day break because Tuesday’s scheduled game against UNO was postponed (the Privateers unable to travel because of midterm exams). Louisiana-Lafayette closed out its homestand with a three-game sweep of Sacred Heart. The Golden Eagles (6-6), meanwhile, are on a three-game losing streak after dropping the final two games of the Troy series last weekend and losing at South Alabama 6-5 on Wednesday. These two teams have faced each other every year since 2007 and have met 37 times all-time. Southern Miss won two of three games in Lafayette last season.
