Huval is now eligible for Capital One Academic All-America honors, which will be announced on Nov. 29. “Andre is truly deserving of this recognition,” ULL coach Mark Hudspeth said. “We ask all of our players to put as much effort into their performance in the classroom as they do on the field, and Andre has been successful at both. His leadership ability on the offensive line has been a key factor in our success and his academic accomplishments set an example for the rest of the team.” A 6-foot-1, 305-pound junior from Scott, Huval is a veteran leader on the offensive line. He was named to the preseason watch list for the Rimington Award, which goes to the nation’s top center. In eight games, Huval has helped the Ragin’ Cajuns offense average 435.5 yards of total offense and 35.0 points. He is the focal point on an offensive line that has given up just nine sacks this year.
