ULL’s Brett Baer, Tulane’s Cairo Santos among Groza Award semifinalists

UL-Lafayette senior Brett Baer and Tulane junior Cairo Santos are among 20 semifinalists for the Lou Groza Award, given annually to college football’s top place-kicker.
Baer is 13 of 16 on field goals, with a long of 52, and 31 of 33 on PATs.
Santos is 14-for-14 on field goals, with a school-record long of 57 yards, and 20 of 21 on PATs.
Finalists will be announced Nov. 19, and the award winner will be announced on Dec. 6 on ESPN.
