Between the lines

Five observations from Tuesday’s practice session:

1 To prior pass break-ups and picks, cornerback Corey White added a pair of disruptions on passes to wide receivers Joe Morgan and Marques Colston.

2 The defense teed off a bit. Both starters and backups had plays that would have been sacks had live contact been allowed on the quarterbacks.

3 A favorite of the coaching staff for his smarts, rookie safety Vinnie Sunseri showed a bit of brawn on a reception by tight end Nic Jacobs. Sunseri laid Jacobs out a moment after the catch with a thunderous blow.

4 As it did Monday, rain fell. It played havoc on at least one play, when a pass slipped out of All-Pro tight end Jimmy Graham’s grasp.

5 Cornerback Stanley Jean-Baptiste’s highs and lows continued, giving up a deep pass but breaking up two others in solid fashion.
