Khairi Fortt, a rookie linebacker out of California chosen in the fourth round, had agreed to a deal with the Saints on Monday but didn’t sign it until a day later, the team said. Meanwhile, the Saints said they signed defensive end/outside linebacker Kasim Edebali after a tryout at a rookie minicamp last weekend. Edebali, an undrafted rookie born in Germany, broke out as a senior at Boston College with 15 takedowns behind the line of scrimmage, 9.5 sacks, five pass break-ups, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries. On another note, after signing him to an honorary free-agent contract with the Saints on Saturday, the Saints placed former Tulane defensive back Devon Walker — who was paralyzed following a serious spinal injury in 2012 — on the reserve/retired list.
