NFL players union accuses Saints lobbyists of introducing state bill unfavorable to pro athletes: report

DeMaurice Smith, the head of the NFL players union, said his group will combat a legislative bill introduced in Louisiana on Wednesday that aims to curtail pro athletes’ ability to gain worker’s compensation benefits, CBS Sports is reporting.

According to CBS Sports, Smith alleged that two lobbyists for the New Orleans Saints helped introduce the bill. The Saints declined to comment on the matter, CBS Sports said.
