Lightning, a pick six and personal foul-ridden play by the Tampa Bay defense were no match for a clutch throw by Drew Brees and a clutch kick by Garrett Hartley with the game on the line.

This Saints defense has heart. Despite numerous physical blows going back to the preseason, New Orleans’ repackaged 3-4 defense has gone from being a liability in 2012 to arguably the reason the Saints are atop the NFC South. This despite losing Tom Johnson and Patrick Robinson on Sunday.
3 Final thoughts
New Orleans is 2-0 after two down-to-the wire victories in which you figure could well have been two losses during the Sean Payton-less 2012 season. The Saints have a real chance to start 4-0 going into two tough road trips to Chicago and New England.
