Saints-Redskins Three and Out

What we learned

The Saints have a lot of work to do on both sides of the ball after the Redskins dominated them from start to finish. Neither unit distinguished itself as the Redskins did what they wanted, especially after the Saints first TD drive gave them a 7-3 lead.

In addition to taking the loss, the Saints had injury problems coming out of the game — especially on defense. They were down to just four linebackers in the second half and played the final 21/2 quarters with just seven healthy defensive backs.e_SClBFinal thoughts

It’s easy to see if the Saints continues to play like they did against the Redskins, it’s going to be a long season. The offense should come along, but the defense has to get better … in a hurry. They lost their 2011 opener and still won 13 games, but Washington is not Green Bay.
