ON THE BUBBLE?: Saints players who may be in a fight to keep their roster spot
Garrett Hartley
Kicker
Missed last season with a hip injury and will have to fight off veteran John Kasay, his replacement last season, to regain his job.
Chris Ivory
Running back
Has been injury-prone during his first two seasons with the team and could be the odd man out in a crowded backfield.
Will Herring
Linebacker
Also battled injuries last year and carries a hefty $1.5 million salary for a backup even though he’s valued on special teams.
Adrian Arrington
Wide receiver
Seventh-round draft pick in 2008 has played in only four games and could be getting his final chance to make good.
Matt Tennant
Guard/Center
Third-year pro was given a shot to win starting center job last summer, but wasn’t ready. Versatility as a guard may help him though.
WHO DAT?
If you’re going to practice, check out these new guys
Curtis Lofton
Linebacker
Former Falcons starter is a tackling machine who should fill in nicely for the suspended Jonathan Vilma in the middle.
Ben Grubbs
Guard
A former Pro Bowler with the Ravens, all eyes will be on him as he replaces All-Pro Carl Nicks on the left side.
Brodrick Bunkley
Defensive tackle
Has earned a reputation as being one of the league’s top run-stoppers and has the strength to help collapse the pocket.
David Hawthorne
Linebacker
A former starter with the Seahawks, he gives the Saints defense another playmaker as the weakside starter.
Nick Toon
Wide receiver
This fourth-round draft pick, and son of former Jets’ star Al Toon, could replace Robert Meachem in the rotation.
Others: DT Akiem Hicks (third-round draft pick), CB Corey White (fifth-round draft pick),
LB Chris Chamberlain (unrestricted free agent).
