Drew Brees practices Sunday with Saints' first team for first time since Aug. 1

New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees worked with the first unit at the outset of practice Sunday, strongly suggesting he will make his pre-season debut Saturday night against the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Brees has worked on a limited basis on occasions but mostly has been sidelined altogether since suffering a sprained left oblique muscle Aug. 1 at the team's training camp site in White Sulphur Springs, W. Va.
Sunday's practice marked the team's first of training camp in New Orleans after spending the first three weeks based at The Greenbrier Resort.

Reserve quarterbacks Luke McCown, Ryan Griffin and undrafted rookie free agent Logan Kilgore have worked under center in Brees' absence.

Stay tuned for additional updates this afternoon as the situation warrants.
Saints coach Sean Payton and Brees are scheduled to address reporters after practice.
