A few minutes with Lucas Reeves

Lucas Reeves (5-foot-10, 225 pounds) is a starter on both the offensive and defensive line for Parkview Baptist. Reeves took over at nose guard when Austin Taylor suffered a season-ending knee injury. The sixth-ranked Eagles take on top-ranked University High in a battle of unbeaten teams Friday night.

How big is this game for Parkview?

“I feel it’s one of the biggest games on our schedule. We feel like a lot is riding on this game when it comes to who will be the district champion.”

What is your impression of University High?

“They’re a good football team. It’s going to be two good football teams coming out to play football. They’re big, and more importantly, they’re a team that executes and works toward one goal.”

Is is tougher because U-High is a team you haven’t played?

“It goes more to the fact that we don’t know exactly what to expect, other than what we see on film. But it also gives us a drive to show them what we can do.”

What do you think your role will be in the game?

“I’ve got to be physical. All of us (linemen) have to win our physical battle. I have to be strong and play through fatigue.”

What does your team have to do to win?

“Play good football. Play our game. Execute our plays and have no blown assignments. We have to do what we know how to do.”

What do you think the score will be?

Parkview Baptist 28, University 21
