A few minutes with Drew Moore

“Instinctively, he’s probably one of the best I’ve ever coached. He looks effortless. He’s just all over the place.” SID EDWARDS, Central coach

Drew Moore (6-foot-3, 270 pounds) is an offensive lineman for University High. Moore has scholarship offers from McNeese State, Southern, Prairie View, Central Arkansas and Southeastern Louisiana. The top-ranked Cubs play No. 6 Parkview Baptist in a battle of 5-0 teams.

How big is this game for you and your team?

“It’s probably the biggest game of the year for us so far.”

What is your impression of Parkview Baptist?

“They have a good program. They’ve been dominant the last few years and won a state title last year. They’re ready to play, and so are we.”

Is it tougher because Parkview is a team you haven’t played?

“Yes. You can’t figure out how your schemes will work against them because you don’t know. We don’t know what the tempo will be like or what it will be like playing over there (at Parkview).”

What do you think will your role be in the game?

“My role is make sure I do everything I can to help my team win. In the trenches I need to stay focused and balanced on every play. If I have a pretty good game, I feel like we’ll have a good one.”

What does your team have to do to win?

“We just have to stay level-headed and play the same way we have these last couple of games. This whole week we’ve been trying to keep up the same routine for that reason.”

What do you think the score will be?
