A few minutes with ... Will Clapp

William Clapp, a 6 foot-5, 290-pound left tackle at Brother Martin, is one of the state’s top offensive linemen and most sought-after recruits. He has committed to LSU. Brother Martin plays St. Augustine on Saturday.

What made you commit to LSU?

It definitely felt like home every time I went. I have a good relationship with the coaches there. And since my dad (Tommy Clapp) played there, it was like a dream school for me.

Any pressure trying to follow your dad’s footsteps?

It’s definitely cool. There is really no pressure. He is always there to give me advice, so I am just enjoying the time with him.

What’s been your best high school football memory so far?

Probably my sophomore year when we beat St. Aug.

Who is your favorite NFL player and why?

Adrian Peterson. I just like watching him run. And watching (Baltimore Ravens tackle) Michael Oher play tackle is definitely something I do on the weekends.

Who will win the Super Bowl this year?

The Saints.

If you could play with one guy from New Orleans, who would it be?

Definitely would have to be (St. Augustine running back) Leonard Fournette. In Louisiana, I would say (Barbe wide receiver ) Trey Quinn because we have become good friends through the recruiting process.

What’s your favorite app?

The text message.

If you could go on a date with any female celebrity, who would it be?

Mila Kunis.

Who is the toughest player you ever had to block?

(Karr defensive end) Isaiah Washington.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

Hopefully in the NFL, but if that doesn’t work out, hopefully a degree (sports administration or business) from LSU with a nice stable job.
