High school football and volleyball teams in Baton Rouge, New Orleans and throughout south Louisiana are asked to submit their rosters for the fall season as soon as possible to The Advocate sports staff. Rosters and schedules can be faxed to (225) 388-0318 or emailed to Robin Fambrough at email@example.com. Rules clinics begin The Louisiana High School Athletic Association football rules clinics for coaches begin Monday at Lutcher High. Other rules clinics are set for Tuesday at Jennings High, Wednesday at Ruston High, Aug. 19 at the LHSAA office and Aug. 20 at Pineville High. All meetings are set for 7 p.m. A makeup clinic is set Aug. 25, also at the LHSAA office. Coaching moves Former LSU football player Josh Dworaczyk is set to be an assistant football coach at his alma mater, Catholic High-New Iberia this season. Dworaczyk, an offensive lineman, completed his eligibility at LSU last season. St. James High has added Shonese Evans as its volleyball coach and Curtis Lawrence as its girls basketball coach. Evans, a former Mississippi Valley volleyball and track competitor, was a three-sport standout in high school at H.L. Bourgeois. Lawrence was previously the girls basketball coach at Xavier Prep in New Orleans, where his teams made the playoffs in six of his eight seasons and claimed two district titles and three runner-up finishes. Lawrence’s 2012-13 team was ranked as high as No. 6 in Class 3A. Open dates Belaire seeks a football scrimmage opponent this fall. Call coach Keith Woods at (225) 933-7350.
