University High School sophomore-to-be Tre Jackson committed to the University of Florida on Friday, according to online and Twitter reports.
The 5-foot-10, 164-pound Jackson played wide receiver and defensive back for the Cubs as a freshman. He is the son of Jack Jackson, a star receiver for the Gators in the 1990s.
Jackson tweeted, “Its official just committed to the University of Florida #GatorNation,” on Friday morning.
Florida.scout.com also reported Jackson’s commitment on Friday, along with several other sites, including rivals.com.
Jackson would be in the Gators’ class of 2016.
