The 33rd Jostens/Episcopal Invitational features nine schools and starts at 4 p.m. with field events at Episcopal. Meanwhile, four teams are set to compete at the Broadmoor Invitational, which begins at 3 p.m. at BHS. The two meets are a contrast. The Episcopal meet is one of the Baton Rouge area’s oldest. Broadmoor is in its second spring of hosting meets at its refurbished track facility. “We were hoping to get some of the top teams in the area and feel like we did that,” Episcopal boys coach Claney Duplechin said. The Jostens/Episcopal meet features Catholic High, St. Joseph’s Academy, Dutchtown, Zachary, Jewel Sumner, West Feliciana, E.D. White Catholic, Walker and host Episcopal. Running events are set for 6 p.m. Host Broadmoor welcomes Denham Springs, Runnels and Tara for its meet, which starts with field events at 3 p.m. and moves to running events at 5:30 p.m. BHS coach Alan Brown said his top athletes include Michael Vick (throws), Devin Reese (long jump, triple jump), Terry Mahoney (hurdles, high jump) and sprinters Henry Myers and Broderick Dellihue. Teri Reese (jumps), Ashley Miles (sprints) and Kallie Johnson (hurdles) are expected to lead the Broadmoor girls.
