Advocate news services Sept. 29, 2014 Comments The New Orleans Pelicans will play the Dallas Mavericks at 7 p.m. October 23 in a preseason game at the CenturyLink Center in Bossier City. “The CenturyLink Center is thrilled to add this NBA preseason matchup to our roster of first-rate entertainment events for 2014,” said Jake Wood, Director of Sales & Marketing for CenturyLink Center. “Hosting two professional level sports teams that have such a large mutual fan base in our region is very exciting. The support from our area will certainly serve as a testament to the brimming enthusiasm for sports that we all share in the Ark-La-Tex.” Pelicans General Manager Dell Demps said, “We want to thank the Shreveport-Bossier City Sports Commission for all their efforts to make this event happen. “We’re excited about the opportunity for our team to play in front of Pelicans fans in north Louisiana and the surrounding areas.” The game will be the Pelicans’ final preseason game.
