90TH ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL GRAND ISLE TARPON RODEO
WHERE: Sand Dollar Marina, Grand Isle.
WHEN: Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
TICKETS: $25. No fee for Children’s Division.
WEIGHSTATION HOURS: 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursday, Friday; 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday. Children’s Division: 11 a.m.-3 p.m. daily at the stage in the Rodeo Pavilion.
UNDER THE TENT: Nightly entertainment. Includes 7 p.m. Thursday President’s Party/boiled shrimp; 9 p.m. Friday fireworks; 8:30 p.m. Saturday awards presentation.
CHILDREN’S CRAB RACES: 2 p.m. daily races in 5-7 and 8-10 age groups. Youngsters must furnish crab. First, second and third place trophies will be awarded in both age groups.
RODEO COMPETITION: Begins at “daylight” Thursday. Ends at 6 p.m. Saturday.
ELIGIBLE SPECIES: First, second and third place awards except where noted.
Big Game Division: Tarpon (longer than 41/2 feet; 10 places and First Tarpon), dolphin (more than 20 pounds), blue marlin, blackfin tuna, wahoo, yellowfin tuna (more than 50 pounds).
Big Game Tag-and-Release Division: Blue marlin (500 points), white marlin (200 points), sailfish (150 points), yellowfin tuna (50 points with maximum of two tuna per angler per day.)
Shoreline Division: Barracuda, bluefish, bonito, cobia, jack crevalle, grouper, king mackerel, Spanish mackerel, mangrove snapper, red snapper, spadefish, tripletail.
Inside Division: Croaker, gafftopsail catfish, black drum, flounder, redfish, redfish stringer, sheepshead, speckled trout, white trout. An angler is allowed to weigh no more than one redfish 27 inches long or longer. In redfish stringer, the combined weight of a maximum of 5 redfish measuring at least 16 inches long but less than 27 inches long.
Children’s Division: Gafftopsail catfish, croaker, channel mullet, hardhead catfish, white trout. Awards at 3 p.m. Saturday.

WHERE: Venice Marina, Venice.
WHEN: Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Captain’s Party, Tuesday, South Port Hall, 200 Monticello Ave., Metairie.

Inshore Division: Speckled trout, redfish under 27 inches long, flounder and Calcutta Grand Slam for the heaviest aggregate weight of these three species.
Rig Division: Cobia, king mackerel, mangrove snapper &and Calcutta Grand Slam for the heaviest aggregate weight of these three species.
Offshore Division: Yellowfin tuna, dolphin, wahoo and Calcutta Grand Slam for the heaviest aggregate weight of these three species.
Other divisions: Tag-and-release blue marlin, live redfish under 27 inches long, redfish and trout inshore tagging and Stranco Lots A Spots for the redfish with the most spots ($500 cash).
