One day after finding out the start time for their Dec. 4 game at West Virginia in the Southeastern Conference-Big 12 Challenge, the Tigers learned that they will be part of ESPN’s nine-game Super Tuesday package twice this season, The network announced Wednesday the LSU-Florida game in Gainesville, Florida, on Jan. 20 and LSU-Kentucky game on Feb. 10 in the Pete Maravich Assembly Center will be featured in Super Tuesday telecasts. Both games will tip off at 6 p.m. CST. The only meeting of the 2014-15 regular season between LSU and Kentucky will be a rematch of their Super Tuesday matchup last January in which the Tigers upset the Wildcats 87-82. The arena was temporarily nicknamed the “Ice Dome” by ESPN play-by-play man Brad Nessler after Baton Rouge was affected by a sleet and ice storm hours before the game began. LSU’s game with Florida will be the first of two against the Gators this season. They met once last season with Florida taking a 79-61 win. The rest of the Super Tuesday package will have Arkansas at Georgia (Jan. 6, 6 p.m.), Missouri at Kansas (Jan. 13, 8 p.m.), Florida at Alabama (Jan. 27, 8 p.m.), Florida at Vanderbilt (Feb. 3, 8 p.m.), Kentucky at Tennessee (Feb. 17, 6 p.m.), Florida at Missouri (Feb. 24, 8 p.m.) and Kentucky at Georgia (March 3, 8 p.m.). The entire league schedule for all 14 Southeastern Conference teams is expected to be released soon. Follow Sheldon Mickles on Twitter @MicklesAdvocate.
