Louisiana to have big group on PGA Tour Louisiana to have big group on PGA Tour BY SCOTT RABALAIS| email@example.com Oct. 13, 2013 Comments The 2013-14 PGA Tour tees off Thursday with a new scheduling format and a big contingent of golfers with Louisiana ties. Ex-LSU golfers and Baton Rouge residents John Peterson and Andrew Loupe are in the season-opening field for the Frys.com Open, along with former University High golfer Patrick Reed. Former LSU All-American and 2001 PGA champion David Toms is not in this week’s field but will compete in 2013-14, his 26th season as a pro. Baton Rouge native Heath Slocum, a longtime resident of Milton, Fla., split time between the PGA and Web.com tours in 2013 and kept his PGA Tour card by finishing in the top 25 in the Web.com Tour Finals. For the first time the tour schedule will begin in October and run through the Tour Championship next September.
