Weather interrupts LSU/Texas A&M again

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — The LSU baseball team was leading Texas A&M 7-2 after six innings when the game was delayed because of a severe storm that was approaching Blue Bell Park on Friday night.

The Aggies had just scored two runs against Tigers starter Aaron Nola when the umpires stopped the game at 8:32 p.m. and ordered the tarp be placed on the field. A&M won the opener of the series 2-1 on Thursday night in a game that was delayed by rain for nearly two hours at the start and twice briefly after it began.

The Tigers bounced back at the start of Friday’s game, scoring three runs in both the second and fourth innings. Sean McMullen has four hits and three RBIs, and JaCoby Jones has two hits and an RBI on his 21st birthday.

If the delay is of any significant duration, it likely will end Nola’s night as well as his string of four consecutive complete games.
