LSU softball game rained out; team clinches West

ATHENS, Ga. — The disappointing news for LSU was that Saturday’s softball game at Georgia was canceled, thanks to some dismal weather.

Better news was on the way.

Alabama lost to Kentucky on Saturday, allowing the Tigers to clinch the Southeastern Conference Western Division title outright for an SEC record ninth time.

It marked the program’s first division crown since the 2007 season.

The teams will attempt to play a single game at 2 p.m. Sunday in Athens. It will be televised by ESPN.
