The improving Jarvis Landry showed that he is now one of the receivers to watch this season. Landry made a leaping 22-yard touchdown reception in the back of the end zone in front of the goalpost to give LSU a 10-0 lead with 1:12 left in the first half. He had eight catches for 75 yards and one touchdwon.

LSU junior Michael Ford was hit or miss with his three kickoff returns. His best return was when he knifed his way through the Arkansas special teams with an 86 yard return to set up a 1-yard TD run by Jeremy Hill in the third quarter.

Despite making key plays to win the game, LSU’s passing defense continued its late-season slump. Arkansas quarterback Tyler Wilson completed 31 of 52 passes for 361 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Wilson shredded the LSU defense with short crossing patterns, which may have been a hint that the Tigers needed to play more zone in the secondary.

äSPECIAL TEAMS SUCCESS: LSU placekicker Drew Alleman and punter Brad Wing were excellent against the Razorbacks. Alleman was 2 for 2 on field goals, including a career-best 49 yarder. Wing averaged 48.2 yards on six punts with a long of 69. His punts helped LSU win its field-position battle while the offense struggled.
