LSU football gets commitment from WR
LSU continues to build on its growing class of recruits for 2013 with the addition of wide receiver Quantavious Leslie of Mississippi-based Hinds Community College.
The 6-foot-3, 185-pound Leslie became the Tigers’ 10th commitment on Wednesday. A native of Hogansville, Ga., Leslie originally signed with West Virginia following a successful prep career at Callaway High School. Leslie, who is scheduled to enroll at LSU in January, is the second receiver on the Tigers’ 2013 list, joining Chuck Baker (6-1, 190), a senior-to-be at Slidell’s Salmen High.
In his first season at Hinds, Leslie caught just 19 passes in a run-oriented offense, but scored touchdowns on 13 of those receptions. Published reports list Leslie with having “more than 500 yards receiving” for Hinds.
Commitments from nine Louisiana players helped jump start LSU’s 2013 class. The last two commitments, Leslie and running back Katy, Texas-based running back Adam Taylor, are from other states.
Three other prospects listed as athletes, Loranger High’s Jeryl Brazil, Neville-Monroe’s John Diarse and Tre’Davious White of Shreveport’s Green Oaks could also factor into LSU’s wide receiver game plan.
