Volleyball signee Leak named finalist for Player of the Year

LSU signee Cati Leak was named a finalist for the 2011 PrepVolleyball.com’s National Player of the Year as announced by the organization.

To be considered for the award, the senior player must have made a massive impact on her high school team and the state. At minimum, the honorees were required to have statistics that were the best on her team at her position and be one of the top two players in her state regardless of class.

The senior players were not required to play on a team that won a state championship. However, 37 of the 51 players on the finalist list were 2011 state champions.

The winner of the National Player of the Year award will be based solely on high school achievement during the 2011 season, not past stardom or future collegiate success.
