Rogillio wins Holiday Classic in playoff

Golfer Brandon Rogillio Jr. of Baton Rouge won on the first playoff hole to claim the boys 9-11 age division title at the recent Mizuno/USSSA Holiday Classic at Gray Plantation in Lake Charles.

Rogillio Jr. and Canon Clark of Lafayette tied at 86 in regulation to force the tiebreaker. Peyton Cantor of St. Amant (107) finished third.

In the boys 15-18 division, Andrew Worley of Lake Charles fired a 78-75—183 and led from beginning to end to capture his first USSSA junior golf championship.

Logan McGee of Raceland (162) finished second, followed by while Joseph Bourque of Iowa finished a stroke behind in third.

Nicholas Arcement of Mathews won the boys 12-14 age group with a 163. Carson Caruso of Greenwell Springs (172) was second, followed by William Latta (190) of Lake Charles.

Brooke Duzan of Sulphur was the only female competitor in the 15-18 age group and fired a 165.

Brooke Tyree of Sulphur fired a 170 as the only female competitor in the girls 12-14 age bracket.
