Zephyrs 6, Sounds 3

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Donovan Solano hammered a seventh inning grand-slam to deliver the New Orleans Zephyrs a come-from-behind victory.

Sean Halton hit a pair of home runs to give Nashville the early lead. The Z’s answered in the fourth with a Kevin Kouzmanoff home run to tie the game. Halton drilled a two- run homer in the fourth and Nashville grabbed a 3-1 lead.

Leading off the seventh, Jake Smolinski singled, Gorkys Hernandez had a pinch-hit single and Kevin Mattison loaded the bases reaching on catcher’s interference. Solano cleared the bases with his first home run of the season.

Chris Hatcher pitched the ninth for New Orleans and earned his league leading 22nd save of the season.

COMING UP

The Zephyrs and Nashville will meet in the third game of the four-game series. The Z’s will start RHP Doug Mathis (2-5, 3.50) against Sounds RHP RJ Seidel (1-3, 4.86).
