DJ Johnson, Mark Bridges win Pelican Point Round Robin

The team of DJ Johnson and Mark Bridges was the overall shoot-out winner in the recent Pelican Point MGA Round Robin golf tournament.

Johnson and Bridges also won the championship flight, followed by Sam Lavigne and Jason Ambeau.

Don Berrigan and Steve Ryan won the first flight, while Tony Frederic and Keith Falgoust were second. Pat Matherne and Bill Cotten won the second flight, followed by Kevin Harrison and Brian Harrison.

The team of Ray Hurley and Jerry Flood took the third flight, followed by Sam Decoteau and Hubby Lavigne. Joe O’Banion and Bryan Haymon won the fourth flight, while VJ Kotian and Skipper McInnis finished second.

Running

COOKE, FETZER TAKE SKEETER 5K TITLES: Roger Cooke and Alexis Fetzer were the winners of the Skeeter 5K held Saturday in downtown Baton Rouge.

Cooke won the overall male title in 16 minutes, 50 seconds, while Fetzer captured the
female title in 20:04.

Dave Kneiling was the masters male winner (19:59), while Kim Dominick was the masters female winner; her time was not available.

Alex Hirsch (22:26) won the grandmasters male title, and Ruth Owenby (26:42) was the grandmasters female winner.

Michael Sullivan (7:08) was the one-mile male winner, while Elizabeth McKinney (7:08) was the one-mile female winner.

Golf

SHARP-WILLIAMS TEAM WINS GAL/PAL TOURNAMENT: The team of Jean Sharp and Mike Williams fired a 72 to win the
Gal/Pal Tournament held Saturday at Webb Park Golf Course.

The team of Tina Griffin and Jason Miller (77) finished second, while Suzanne Seefield and Ty Whitley (82) were third. The tournament used a best ball/alternate shot format.
