Alex Dunbar and Camille Jaubert were the winners of the YMCA Gingerbread Jog 5K and One Mile Family Fun Run/Dog Walk held Saturday at City Park.
Dunbar had a time of 18 minutes, eight seconds to win the overall male title in the 5K, while Jaubert’s time was unavailable.
Troy Alello (18:49) was the Male Masters winner, while Corie Hebert (24:28) was the Female Masters winner.
In the one-mile run, Tanner Colson (6:44) was the male winner, and Vivianna Foote (6:52) was the female winner.
TONEY, LOVITT WIN TITLE: In Zachary, the team of Karen Toney and Clark Lovitt fired a 70 to win the Executive Women’s Golf Association’s Alternate Shot Format Championship at Beaver Creek Course.
Tina Chin-Griffin and Jason Miller (75), finished second, followed by Suzanne Seefield and Scott Brady (75).
RED STICK TEAM WINS TOURNAMENT: The Red Stick 007’s girls 14-under fast pitch team wrapped up its fall season by going 7-0 to capture the championship in the Softball 365 24/007 tournament in Gonzales.
In a close game, against the 16-under Inferno, the Red Stick team trailed 1-0 in the last inning but rallied for a 2-1 win.
Taylor Tidwell had a one-out triple and scored on a Blayne Pence double to right to tie the score. Pence moved to third on a ground out by Abby Mckey for the second out of the inning and scored the winning run on a base hit by Brooke Romano.
Renee Firmin pitched a complete game to get the victory.
Leadoff hitter Camryn Flannigan was a constant factor on base, along with catcher Abbey Andermann and second baseman Madison Averett. Baylee Bourgeois and Kennedy Carruth provided solid defense, while pitchers Ryann Bizette and Firmin never allowed more than one earned run in any game.
The Red Stick team finished the fall with a 23-4 record with three tournament titles and a runner-up finish. The team is coached by BJ Romano and Tab Bourgeois.
