LSU (11-13, 7-8 Southeastern Conference ) has won five of its last eight outings and will be looking to build on back-to-back victories over Mississippi State and Ole Miss. Georgia (13-11, 7-7 SEC) has lost three straight matches and four of its last six outings. However, the Bulldogs have posted a 7-3 home record in 2012. UGA’s offense is sparked by Briana Bahr, Tirah Le’ea and Brittany Northcutt, who have all posted over 2.50 kills per set. Bahr and Northcutt combined for 39 spikes during the Bulldogs 3-2 victory over LSU earlier this season. After her 25-kill performance last time out against Ole Miss, Madie Jones jumped into sixth place on the SEC’s kills list. Cross country TEAMS PREPARE TO COMPETE IN NCAA SOUTH CENTRAL REGIONAL: The LSU cross country teams will travel to Agri Park Cross Country Park in Fayetteville, Ark., on Friday to compete in the 2012 NCAA South Central Regional Championships. The teams competed at Agri Park at the Chile Pepper Festival earlier this season as the Lady Tigers finished in fourth place and the Tigers finished in 22nd place during the competititon. After finishing seventh overall at the SEC Cross Country Championship meet, the Lady Tigers hope to finish either first or second overall, propelling the team to the NCAA Championship meet. After performing exceptionally this season, being named SEC Women’s Runner of the Week and receiving Second Team All-SEC honors, Carleton is also poised to qualify for the NCAA Championship meet as an individual runner. On the men’s side, the Tigers hope to improve from their 13th-place finish at the SEC Championship meet in their last appearance on Oct. 26.
