Tigers, Aggies to play at 6:30 p.m. on Thanksgiving

LSU’s game at Texas A&M on Thanksgiving will kick off in prime time to a national audience.

The Tigers and Aggies will meet on ESPN at 6:30 Thanksgiving night from Kyle Field in College Station, Texas, the network announced Monday.

Four of LSU’s 12 game times this season have been announced. All of them are slotted for night kickoffs.

The Tigers meet Wisconsin at 8 p.m. in the season opener Aug. 30 in Houston. LSU then hosts Sam Houston State at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 6 before welcoming in Louisiana-Monroe at 6 p.m. Sept. 13.

The Advocate reported in August that LSU would play on Thanksgiving against Texas A&M, which is expected to be the Tigers’ new opponent for regular season finales.

LSU is 2-0 against the Aggies since they joined the Southeastern Conference in 2012. LSU leads the overall series with Texas A&M 29-20-3.

LSU will be playing on Thanksgiving Day for the first time since dropping a 21-7 decision to Alabama in Tiger Stadium in 1973. The Tigers are 5-4-3 all-time in games played on Thanksgiving including a 7-7 tie against Texas A&M in Houston in 1913.
