From 2009-12, the 6-3, 240-pound Walker amassed 371/2 takedowns behind the line of scrimmage (No. 2 in school history) and 15 sacks (third all-time) as a linebacker for Southeastern. He had seven sacks in 2012 — the second-most in a single season for the program — despite only appearing in 91/2 games because of a shoulder issue. Walker was at training camp with the Chargers until he tore his meniscus ahead of the first preseason game. The team waived him with an injury settlement. In high school, Walker attended Catholic High in Baton Rouge. Reports are Walker will be attending the Saints’ minicamp with at least one more ex-Southeastern player trying out: defensive end Cqulin Hubert. The 6-1, 250-pound Hubert was the first at the school to be named defensive player of the year in the Southland Conference. Walker also has a tryout scheduled with the Kansas City Chiefs for the weekend of May 23. Saints report to camp July 24 The Saints on Wednesday made it official that the team will report to training camp at the Greenbrier golf resort in West Virginia on July 24, and the first practice will be July 25. The media will also have access to organized team activities on May 29, June 5 and June 18, the team said. The mandatory minicamp from June 10-12 will be open to the media, as is typical. New Orleans’ rookie minicamp is Friday to Sunday, with media access Saturday. OTAs are May 27-29, June 2-5 and June 16-19. The Saints will open their preseason in St. Louis on Aug. 8. Two free agents sign deals The Saints signed deals with a couple of more free agents Wednesday — 6-5, 310-pound offensive lineman Manase Foketi and defensive tackle 6-2, 318-pound Moses McCray (Akron). Foketi signed with the Broncos as a college free agent last year after playing left tackle in 2012 at West Texas A&M, which produced Saints running back Khiry Robinson. He spent the 2010 and 2011 seasons with Kansas State, logged one year at Mt. San Antonio College in California and put in time with the Buffalo Bills’ practice squad after his stint with the Broncos. Meanwhile, before transferring to Akron in 2013, McCray was a defensive tackle at Florida State from 2008-12. He red-shirted in 2010 because of an injury, and he sat out the 2012 campaign for the same reason, only playing in four games and getting four tackles in 2011. He got in on 24 tackles in 12 games for Akron.
