'Tigue' Moore Field. The ballpark's artificial turf allowed the Cajuns to practice Wednesday, even after a heavy rainfall. Advocate staff report April 09, 2014 Comments Something finally slowed down the red-hot UL-Lafayette baseball team — the weather. The Ragin’ Cajuns were among several teams who postponed Friday games because of the wet weather that swept through Louisiana. The Cajuns, winners of 14 straight games, were supposed to begin a three-game series against Western Kentucky on Friday night. Instead, they’ll play a doubleheader at 2 p.m. Saturday, then follow with the series finale at 1 p.m. Sunday. Southeastern Louisiana pushed back its series opener against Houston Baptist, as well; those Southland Conference teams will play a doubleheader at 2 p.m. Saturday. Nicholls State, sitting alone atop the Southland standings, wiped out Friday’s conference game against Oral Roberts; those teams will play a doubleheader at 3 p.m. Saturday. And UNO postponed its series opener against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Those teams will play a doubleheader at 1 p.m. Saturday.
