Prep events rescheduled because of weather concerns

The Louisiana High School Athletic Association cancelled almost all Wednesday activities for its annual convention at the Crowne Plaza.

Executive Director Kenny Henderson said the convention will follow its original schedule on both Thursday and Friday.

There will be one addition event Thursday. The Louisiana High School Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony at the Crowne Plaza that was set for Wednesday was moved to Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

Wednesday’s Denham Springs at Walker girls basketball game has been rescheduled to Feb. 5. It was the only game remaining on Wednesday’s schedule. The Madison Prep at Christian Life girls-boys and Woodlawn at St. Amant boys games were pushed back to Monday previously.

Two other girls basketball game in Ascension Parish has been changed. Thursday’s East Ascension at St. Amant game has been moved to Saturday at 5 p.m. with only a varsity game scheduled. St. Amant’s game at Woodlawn originally scheduled for Tuesday has now been moved to Wednesday, Jan. 5.
