Click here for updates on Saturday's LHSAA state championship football games in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The games were Vermilion Catholic vs. St. Frederick in Division IV at 12 p.m., Karr vs. East Jefferson in Class 4A at 4 p.m., Acadiana vs. Parkway in Class 5A at 8 p.m.

Class 5A final: Parkway vs. Acadiana

Fourth quarter

Final: Acadiana 77, Parkway 41.

Acadian takes a knee. They likely could have scored again.

Acadiana is now three-for-three, scoring on all three of its drives. Elijah Leday scores on a 51-yard run and the Wreckin Rams lead Parkway 21-0 with 2:44 to go in the first quarter.

Class 4A final: East Jefferson and Karr

NOTABLE: East Jeff becomes the first Jefferson Parish public school team to win a state football title since John Ehret, which won the 4A title in 1981 — the first year the LHSAA title games were held in the Superdome.

FINAL SCORE: East Jefferson 38, Karr 28; EJHS wins its first state title.

Yes, another interception. EJHS’ Leonard LeBranch picks off Karr this time. East Jeff can run out the clock and claim the Class 4A title.

Another interception by EJHS. This time its DeShawn Raymond. Warriors have the ball at Karr 39 with 2:30 to go in the game.

Jamal Veazy intercepts a Kerry Taylor pass and returns it 31 yards for a TD with 2:49 left in the game. East Jefferson leads Karr 38-28.

East Jeff 31, Karr 28 with 2:58 to go in the game. Isaac Espinoza boots a 31-yard field goal to give the Warriors the lead.

East Jefferson’s Eugene tosses a TD pass to Ronald Green with 8:39 left in the game to tie it again. East Jefferson 28, Karr 28.

Devante Noil scores on a 1-yard run that gives Karr the lead again. Karr 28, East Jefferson 21 with 2:31 left in third quarter. A 9-play, 60-yard drive for Karr.

East Jeff chews 6:01 off the clock. Eugene Wells scores on a 1-yard run to tie the game. Wells also had a 39-yard pass to Jerome Smith during the drive. Karr 21, East Jefferson 21 5:59 to go in third quarter.

Karr misses a field goal on the last play of the first half. Karr 21, East Jefferson 14 at halftime.

A 48-yard kickoff return by Devante Noil sets up an 11-yard TD run by Kerry Taylor. The TD by Taylor gives Karr a 21-14 lead with 9:31 left in the first half.

East Jeff quickly ties it on a 59-yard run pass from Eugene Wells to Jerome Smith. Its 14-14 at the 10:39 mark in second quarter.

Karr scores twice in a 56-second span to take the lead. Devante Noil scores on a 5-yard run tie the game at 7-7 with 31 a seconds left in the first quarter. Following an EJ fumble, Kerry Taylor’s 8-yard TD pass to Jerial Tolbert makes it 14-7 Karr with 11:35 left in half.

Division IV

FINAL SCORE: Vermilion Catholic 63, St. Frederick 18.

The Eagles score off a turnover. St. Frederick completes a hook-and-ladder play, but a fumble forced by Connor Menard was recovered by Drake Broussard, who returns it 26 yards for a TD with 4:24 left in the game. Vermilion Catholic 63, St. Frederick 18. VCHS point total sets a Prep Classic record.

Vermilion Catholic adds another TD. Tyler Derouen scores on a 7-yard pass from Brennan Gallet. VCHS 56, St. Frederick 18 with 8:33 left in the game.

St. Frederick’s Peyton Braswell blocks a punt and Daniel Ellender returns it 15 yards for TD with 10:24 left in the game. Seth Christian tosses a two-point PAT pass to Ben Sims. Vermilion Catholic 49, St. Frederick 18.

END OF THIRD QUARTER: Vermilion Catholic 49, St. Frederick 10

Mike Campbell opens the third quarter with a 3-yard TD run for Vermilion Catholc. VCHS 49, St. Frederick 10, 9:30 left in third quarter.

Notes: Vermilion Catholic has 364 yards of first-half offense. Mike Campbell ran for 122 yards on 9 carries. Brennan Gallet completed all nine of his passes for 213 yards. Seth Christian has passed for 77 yards and run for 40 for SFHS.

HALFTIME: Vermilion Catholic 42, St. Frederick 10

Emile Trahan makes another big play. Trahan returns a punt 89 punt and then kicks his seventh PAT of the half with 2:00 to go. Vermilion Catholic 42, St. Frederick 10.

Chalk up another one for VCHS. This time, Gallet throws a 43-yard TD pass to Emile Trahan. With 3:26 remaining in the half its Vermilion Catholic 35, St. Frederick 10.

An answer by St. Frederick. A 58-yard drive that ends with Seth Christian tossing a 22-yard TD pass to Peyton Baswell. Vermilion Catholic 28, St. Frederick 10, 5:01 to go in the half.

Next for Vermilion Catholic, an 8-play, 95-yard drive. Campbell scores his third TD on a 3-yard run. VCHS 28, St. Frederick 3, with 8:25 left in the half.

End of first quarter: Vermilion Catholic 21, St. Frederick 3

Another possession and another score for Vermilion Catholic. Mike Campbell scores on a 62-yard run. VCHS 21, St. Frederick 3 with 1:29 to go in the first quarter.

And the Eagles strike again by air. After recovering an onside kick, Vermilion Catholic drives 46 yards in four plays. Gallet throws a 7-yard TD pass to Mike Campbell. Vermilion Catholic 14, St. Frederick 3 with 3:39 left in first quarter.

Seth Christian recovers a fumble and later kicks a 26-yard field goal to give St. Frederick a 3-0 lead over Vermilion Catholic with 6:19 left in the first quarter.
