Apr 11, 2013 06:36 Nashville shuts down Zephyrs Nashville shuts down Zephyrs Advocate staff report April 11, 2013 Comments NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Johnny Hellweg pitched five scoreless innings as the Nashville Sounds posted a 6-0 shutout of the New Orleans Zephyrs on Saturday night at Greer Stadium. The Sounds (2-1) jumped on Zephyrs starter Jacob Turner early, scoring runs in each of the first three innings. Scooter Gennett led the game off with a double and scored on a Sean Halton single. Cole Garner started the second with a solo homer to make it 2-0. Nashville scored four runs on four hits in the third, with Halton adding another RBI and Blake Davis two. The Sounds held the Zephyrs (1-2) to three singles and Bryan Petersen’s double. Turner allowed six runs — five earned — and seven hits in four innings. The teams complete their four-game series at 2:05 p.m. Sunday. On Monday, the Zephyrs start a four-game set in Memphis, Tenn.
