Auburn ousts Tulane in WNIT Auburn ousts Tulane in WNIT Advocate news services April 11, 2013 Comments AUBURN, Ala. — Auburn got off to a fast start Wednesday, scoring the first four points of the game and eight of the first 10, and cruised to a 72-52 women’s college basketball win over Tulane in the third round of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament. Auburn’s lead swelled to 14 at 25-11 with Chadarryl Clay’s 3-pointer with 4:23 to go before halftime, but a 3-pointer by Tulane’s Danielle Blagg sparked a 12-0 run over the next 2:37 to make it a two-point contest. The Green Wave never led but also rallied from a 15-point second-half deficit to make it a four-point game twice late. Auburn, however, hit a pair of back-breaking 3-pointers and connected on 14 of 16 free-throw attempts over the final 6:13 to put the game away. Tyrese Tanner led Auburn (19-14) with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Tra’cee Tanner added 12 points and Blanche Alverson scored 10 points Najat Ouardad had seven assists. Blagg scored 11 points to pace the Wave (24-9) Tiffany Dale scored 10, Olivia Grayson had six rebounds, and Jamie Kaplan had five assists.
