Louisiana Tech basketball coach Michael White lands contract extension Louisiana Tech basketball coach Michael White lands contract extension Advocate news services March 31, 2013 Comments RUSTON — Louisiana Tech Athletic Director Bruce Van De Velde announced Sunday that men’s basketball coach Michael White agreed to a contract extension, pending approval from the University of Louisiana System’s Board of Supervisors. White has led the Bulldogs to a 45-22 record in his first two seasons in Ruston. Tech (27-6) visits Southern Miss (26-9) in the National Invitation Tournament’s second round at 9 p.m. Monday; the game will air on ESPNU. The Bulldogs began the season 8-3 before reeling off an 18-game winning streak from late December to early March, the program’s longest streak in its 84-year history. On Feb. 25, Tech cracked the Associated Press Top 25 at No. 25, the Bulldogs’ first national ranking in 28 years. Tech beat Southern Miss 65-55 on Dec. 8 in Ruston. The teams met in the first round of the 2010 CollegeInsider.com Tournament, with Tech winning 66-57.
