Advocate news services March 21, 2013 Comments NEW ORLEANS — John Curtis will meet St. Thomas Aquinas of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and St. Paul’s will face Jesuit in the third Allstate Sugar Bowl Prep Football Showcase. The prep football doubleheader will be played Sept. 13 in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The St. Paul’s-Jesuit matchup will kick off at 6 p.m., with the Curtis-St. Thomas Aquinas game at 8:30 p.m. Curtis and St. Paul’s will be making their third appearance in the showcase. Last season, Curtis defeated Plant High School of Tampa., 33-3, while St. Paul’s lost to Tallahassee (Fla.) Lincoln, 14-13. St. Thomas Aquinas has won seven Florida state championships, the latest in 2010. Jesuit was 8-3 last season, losing to Airline in the first round of the Class 5A playoffs.
