Grayson powers Wave women to rout of Tulsa
NEW ORLEANS — Senior Olivia Grayson had a season-high 20 points and added 10 rebounds as the Tulane women’s basketball team beat Tulsa 74-59 on Sunday in Devlin Fieldhouse.
The Green Wave (20-6, 9-4 Conference USA) led 34-32 at halftime but scored the first nine points of the second half to pull away and secure its fourth straight 20-win season for the first time since 1996.
“I thought we came out good,” coach Lisa Stockton said of the second-half surge. “We came out with some energy in that second half and were able to score right away. We got a couple of key baskets, and we were aggressive.”
Janique Kautsky and Chinwe Duru each added 10 points for Tulane, which outrebounded Tulsa 45-33.
Taleya Mayberry had 13 points to lead Tulsa (11-15, 6-7) but shot 2-of-15 from the field. Kelsee Grovey added 11 points.
The Green Wave visit league-leading SMU on Thursday.
