Parkview edged Loyola 3-2 and University topped St. Thomas Aquinas 2-1. Carter Stone and Manny Miles scored goals in the U-High regional playoff victory. Cubs goalkeeper Matthew Johnson had three saves. Brad Leon scored St. Thomas Aquinas’ goal. STA’s Kameron Ecklend had eight saves. Scoring goals for Parkview (11-7-2) were Daniel Myers, Ayser Sheikha and Kelly James. Goalkeeper Nick Kirsch registered seven saves. Parkview, seeded No. 11, will host third-seeded Catholic-New Iberia in a quarterfinal game. Girls FONTAINEBLEAU 1, EAST ASCENSION 0: In Mandeville, third-seeded Fontainebleau edged No. 14 EAHS in regional action, thanks to a goal by Danielle Sanathe. Goalkeeper Lynda Boylan finished with nine saves for East Ascension. FHS’ Kristen Guidotti had three saves for FHS, which advances to play Dominican-New Orleans in the quarterfinal round.
