BREC Holiday Scramble winners named

The team of Lou Perrault, Jason Helmke, Jarrod Helmke and Mike Fletcher won the championship flight of the BREC Holiday Scramble over the weekend at Beaver Creek and Santa Maria golf courses.

The winning team had a
52-53—105 to win the title.

The team of Randy Goff, Bill Land, Page Breaux and Steven Inzenga (53-52—105) finished second in the championship flight, followed by Randall Little, Kolby Tullier, Larry Lynch and Wade Gautreau

The team of Russ Gaudin, Lew Ward, Scott Rabenhorst and Scott Nelson (58-56—114) won the first flight, followed by Jason Miller, Jason Anderson, Steven Cavell and Eric Tonsul (57-57—114). Danny Nelson, Doody Nelson, Jim Whitten and Chip Houston (57-59—116)
finished third.

Charles Laird, Stan Barbier, Dod Binghurst and Tommy Viguet (59-56—115) won the second flight, followed by Kent Willis, Warren Stanbro, Speedy Baudin and Chad Bellefleur (60-57—117) and Bryan Slaydon, Nick Lorio, Chad Simonson and Ross Lentanni (61-56—117).


RED STICK 007’S WRAP UP FALL SEASON: The Red Stick 007s 10-under softball team wrapped up its fall by capturing the championship of the Softball 365 24/007 tournament. The team outscored its opponents 37-0 to go 5-0 in the tournament.

Alyssa Romano, Brittiney Turner, and Emma Hutchinson combined to throw five shutouts in the tournament, while Hannah Presley had a team-leading .612 batting average and 42 RBIs for the fall season.

Jenna Vavasuer, Payton Grainer, Jayda Spillman, Paige Luquette and Sydnie Soileau also hit well, while Anna Jones and Kendyl Kerr supplied solid defense in the tournament.

The team closed the fall season with a 38-3 record, four tournament titles and two runner-ups. The team is ranked No. 5 in the nation by the United States Fastpitch Association.
