Nov 7, 2012 15:19 Curtis, Evangel head group playing up to Class 3A Curtis, Evangel head group playing up to Class 3A Advocate staff report Nov. 07, 2012 Comments Football powers John Curtis-River Ridge and Evangel Christian Academy-Shreveport lead a group of schools who will play up in classification from Class 2A to 3A when the Louisiana High School Athletic Association classifies its schools for 2013-14 and 20140-15. Schools had until noon Wednesday to declare their intentions to play up by one classification. The LHSAA announced the list of schools playing up as part of its first classification meeting held at the LHSAA office. Other football schools opting to play up to 3A include Green Oaks-Shreveport, Miller-McCoy, Sarah Reed and John McDonogh. The only Baton Rouge school opting to play up is Redemptorist, which dropped in enrollment to Class 1A, but will play up to 2A.
